Street Tree Plantings One of our goals is to increase tree coverage in Fishtown. We encourage residents to apply for FREE street trees with Philly Tree People, the local tree tender group that has planted over 1,000 trees in 19125 and 19134 since 2007. Applications are due in May and November of each year, and approved trees will get planted by volunteers six months later. Apply for a free street tree here!Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Cigarette Receptacles We are installing 24 cigarette receptacles (lovingly called "buttholders") in front of participating Fishtown businesses and community organizations in an effort to reduce cigarette litter. Check out the map above to see current and future locations. Are you interested in a cigarette receptacle? Complete the form here.
Feed the Fish Trash Cans Since the City of Philadelphia does not maintain enough public trash cans in Fishtown, we have built out our own network of public trash cans. Feed the Fish is our program to place trash cans in front of participating Fishtown businesses and residences in an effort to reduce trash in Fishtown. This program was sponsored by Fishtown Co and Johnny Brenda’s in 2017 and Penn Treaty Special Services District in 2014. Are you interested in adopting a #feedthefish can? Fill out this form, and we will be in touch when one becomes available.
